Option 1: Volunteer at: Refuge Patagonia School
The objectives of the charity shall be:
· a) Whenever possible, to give shelter to unwanted, stray, sick or injured cats/dogs.
· b) To provide veterinary treatment for sick and injured cats/dogs.
· c) To find suitable new homes for any rescued cats/dogs at the refuge.
· d) Where possible, attempt to find homes for unwanted cats/dogs at the request of cats/dogs’s owners without first bringing the cat/dog into the refuge.
· e) To raise the standard of care, by owners, for cats/dogs by means of education and advice to members of the public.
· f) To ensure that any cat/dog in care at the refuge is neutered.
· g) Whenever possible, subject to the availability of funds, to ensure that all cats/dogs at the refuge are micro-chipped before leaving the refuge for the purpose of being re-homed.
· h) Whenever possible, subject to the availability of funds, to assist in the cost of neutering cats/dogs where their owners are on low income.

In the streets of Bariloche you can see many dogs and cats abandoned. Volunteers can build dog/cats houses, look after the animals, play with dogs and cats.
At this moment we have 34 cats and 25 dogs. |

Option 2: Social Sustainable Projects: The “Conscious Child-Raising” Foundation
The Project aims to improve the parent-child relationship and their communication within a space of mutual respect, we also think that to educate is to nurture a child’s intelligence and creative forces within his/her own limits so that he/she feels free to think, feel, and judge in an independent way with real love.
We offer single and family office hours in different modalities like:
Domiciliary visits.
Support Groups for:
Early Infancy parents
Preadolescent and adolescent parents
Adolescents
Courses given by guest professionals (some from other places).
Publication of articles in local newspapers and magazines.
Radio programs: “Viendo crecer a nuestros hijos” (“As we watch our children grow” in Del Lago Radio Station), and “Criando a nuestros hijos en libertad” (“Raising our children in freedom” in El Arka Radio Station)
Work in marginal communities at risk.
Telephone consultations.
Building actual support nets between mothers and families at risk.

Option 3: Government Organisations: Volunteer in National Park Nahuel Huapi.

Volunteer programs in National Park Nahuel Huapi take place during January & February. Applicants must previously fill out a form (speaking Spanish is required) read and accept the rules. The arrangements must be made in advance since you will have to do some paperwork, we recommend you apply one month in advance (by email). For these programs, you must work 30 days, at least.

Volunteers will assist the tourists, help with the maintenance of the tracks and of the historical museum, patrol the tracks to detect problems, and related tasks. Volunteers will be sharing a house at the Park with other local (Argentine) volunteers who are training to be park rangers. Each volunteer will buy their own food (approximately US$ 20 per week). Volunteers need a police clearance check to volunteer at National Parks in Argentina.

Option 4: Volunteer programs in Schools
English teacher assistant.
Schools accepting volunteers are located in the needy parts of Bariloche. Your work and help will be appreciated. Each volunteer candidate will be interviewed by the school. Your task will be appointed according to your background, wishes and opportunities available.
Tasks: helping English teachers for basic level English students. Students are at secondary school, there are both teenagers and adults. You can choose to help during the lessons or after classes as tutors as well.
Cost: Free
Minimum stay: 3 weeks
Hours per week: 6

Spanish level required: basic.
Option 5: Work as a Nanny
Many families are poor and need work a lot but they can’t pay a salary for a nanny so this children are alone all day at home and they can’t go to school and have lunch. You will help care for the children, drive them to school and school activities, read stories, wash babies
Cost: u$s 50 (No include: accommodation and meals)Volunteer fees are used to purchase food, babies milk, diapers/nappies etc.
Minimum stay: 1 month
Hours per week: 20
Available all year round
Spanish level required: very good
